Trish Morgan-Freeman, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
- Board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Centeras a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatric nursing.
- Certified by the State of Texas as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- Education
- Graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health
Trish previously worked as a registered nurse for over 27 years in many areas of nursing, including as a psychiatric nurse in both inpatient and outpatient settings. During her psychiatric work experience, having experienced the gaps in care and the great need for increasing mental health care within our community and country, she began the journey of pursuing her advanced nursing practice education. Appreciating the strength that it takes to continue to fight each day to find joy and happiness, she feels privileged to support and walk alongside those who fight on the “loneliness battlefield of the mind”. Trish is a passionate, empathetic provider who believes in a holistic evidence-based approach to treatment. She is trained and experienced in caring for clients across the lifespan. Her extensive training and work experience places her in a good stead to render individualized professional expertise in the management of children, adolescent, and adults with various mental health disorders using evidence-based practices. She enjoys working with clients who are overcoming trauma and dealing with mental health challenges. When she isn’t in the clinic working, she enjoys spending quality time with her 14-year-old twin boys, her dog Bella and her family, traveling, working out and volunteering her services to those in need.
One of our core values is building a strong client-provider relationship by way of building a great therapeutic relationship.
Characteristics of a Therapeutic Relationship include:
- Empathy
- Genuineness
- Care and Warmth
- Insight and Experience
- Trusting and non-judgmental attitude
Without a therapeutic relationship, there can be no client-provider relationship. Forming a therapeutic relationship is fundamentally important to the holistic process. The respectful and compassionate nature of therapeutic communication will help clients open up more about their needs, their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. It also encourages them to share how effective their treatments are and so much more.
